Bright House Networks is proud to announce the 2011-2012 StudentCam competition, C-SPAN’s annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities and our nation. Students are asked to create a short video documentary that responds to a specific topic. Winning students are eligible to win up to $62,000 in cash prizes. Bright House Networks is proud to announce its partnership with C-SPAN on their StudentCam program, an annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities and our nation. Students are asked to create a short (5-8 minute) video documentary that responds to a specific topic. Winning students will share $50,000 in cash prizes nationally, and $12,000 locally.
This Year's StudentCam Topic
Students are asked to create a 5-8 minute documentary on:
“The Constitution and You: Select any provision of the U.S. Constitution and create a video illustrating why it’s important to you.”.
C-SPAN will provide 75 student prizes and 11 teachers with a total of $50,000 in prizes awarded in two separate categories: Middle School and High School. Bright House Networks will again select up to six regional winners, one from each of the major areas it serves, to receive a $1,000 cash prize for students, and $1,000 to spend on digital video equipment for their schools.
Deadline for submission is midnight on January 20, 2012.
The Entry Form and Video Submission pages will be posted by November 1, 2011, and video and contact information may be submitted online anytime between Tuesday, November 1, 2011, and Friday, January 20, 2012.
