2012 “Bright Futures Student Laptop Scholarship” Winners Announced

Back

Livonia, MI

Bright House Networks announces the winners of their 2012 “Bright Futures Student Laptop Scholarship” Program. The program, launched in January of 2012, is designed to provide high school seniors that are matriculating to college with a laptop as a reward for their hard work and commitment to leadership and community.

Students were asked to submit an application and develop an essay that describes the importance of leadership both in school and in the community in which they live. The student’s essay also gave them an opportunity to share individual leadership skills and community involvement. Students were then evaluated on the content of their submission. Student winners will be recognized and laptops presented at Senior Awards programs at their respective schools.

“We are excited to provide these students with a laptop for college” states Robert McCann, President Bright House Networks Detroit Division. “We challenged these students to share their experiences as leaders in their schools and communities and are rewarding them for their efforts. Our goal is to make a positive contribution to the educational experience of these student leaders. We are proud to be able to make these laptop scholarships available to these students”.

The winners of the laptop scholarships are:
  • Reem Aabed – Farmington High School
  • Nate Hedgecock – Farmington High School
